Hi, friends,
I’ve come to understand that community is not a simple thing. It is not bound by geography or defined by proximity. While closeness can shape us, it is not a requirement. True community is built when we surround ourselves with people who lift us, who challenge us, who honor our values and help us stand more firmly in them.
The 2024 election unsettled me. It shook my sense of belonging, my beliefs, even my understanding of who I am. In recent years, I’ve often felt disconnected—adrift in a quiet hopelessness, weighed down by a loss I couldn’t always name. That grief has been consuming at times, blurring the path forward.
And yet, something has kept me moving. I’ve found strength in conversation, in forming new connections with people whose paths run parallel to mine. In shared stories and aligned values, I’ve felt the faint but persistent pull of hope.
Now, I want more than survival—I want growth. I want to stretch and redefine what community can look like. I want to help cultivate a space that moves us toward a better future, a space where we can speak openly about our discontent with the current administration and its policies, and where our voices feel both heard and held. How do we turn these desires into something real?
I imagine a space where we find new allies, listen with curiosity to unfamiliar perspectives, and maybe—just maybe—build lasting friendships. A space that takes shape through group gatherings, online dialogue, shared volunteer work with organizations aligned with our values, and eventually, visible action—whether in person or virtual.
This group will be inspired by strong women.
It will be built by strong women.
And it will be through strong women that change takes root.
